Office and Residential Complex Kurfürstenstraße

In Berlin at the entrance of the City West, blauraum has designed a new innovative wooden hybrid high-rise for Grundbesitz GmbH & Co. KG. Next to the existing buildings of the 60s and 80s, the newly planned office and residential building impresses with a transparent appearance. The basis of the wood hybrid construction is the CREE system, a simple module-based support system – sustainable, flexible and light.

In the gap between the office and the residential part, a lobby is created, which acts as both a connection and a separation. The lobby opens to the vertical. The result is an open meeting room. The staircase-like arrangement of the seminar rooms is reminiscent of the existing building of Constanze Pressehaus. In addition, the clear separation of the two buildings creates an open passage into the green courtyard.
